FAQ #01

Antidotes

Are there certain things I need to avoid when taking Homeopathic remedies?

Yes, it is best to avoid peppermint, menthol, camphor and coffee as these may stop the remedy from acting. Decaffeinated coffee and tea, however, are fine to drink. It is also a good idea to avoid eating, drinking, smoking and cleaning your teeth for 20 minutes either side of taking the remedy. The remedies are very delicate, and because they are usually dissolved on the tongue, can be easily antidoted by strong substances in the mouth.

Yes, the remedies can be used for babies and children as well as for the elderly. They are also frequently used for treating animals........ so that any living being can benefit.

What are Homeopathic medicines made from?

FAQ #03

How long will the Homeopathic and Bach Flower remedies keep for?

The remedies will keep indefinitely as long as they are stored in cool, dark and dry conditions away from strong smells. Bach Flower remedies in their concentrated form (as bought from Health Stores), will last for up to five years. Bach Flower remedies individually mixed in a bottle by a Practitioner will last for up to 4 weeks when preserved with a little brandy or cider vinegar.

What can Homeopathy and the Bach Flowers treat?

The Bach Flowers can only treat mental and emotional inbalances but Homeopathy can treat complaints on a physical level too. Homeopathy does not require a "disease" label since it treats the person as a whole and looks at the unique way in which the disease is experienced. The treatment therefore is based on the individual's symptoms which are matched to a remedy, which, when given to a healthy person, can produce those same symptoms. Hence, the idea that "like cures like". For instance, coffee can act as a stimulant and cause insomnia but when given in Homeopathic form, it can cure insomnia. In Homeopathic form remedies are very highly diluted and succussed (shaken), so that any toxic side effects are removed.
